Department of Biochemistry organized a one-day workshop on "Functional annotation of hypothetical proteins using AI driven structure similarity approach" on Thursday, 18 December 2025.
Session I commenced at 11:30 a.m. Dr. M. P. Ashar Waheed, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry,
introduced the resource person by highlighting his contributions in the fields of molecular docking and functional annotation of proteins.
Session II commenced at 2:00p.m. Dr. Syed Abuthakir, Research Associate (Senior), Institute of Systems Biology, The National University of Malaysia ,delivered a highly informative lecture on “Functional annotation of hypothetical proteins using AI driven structure similarity approach”.He provided hands on training on protein structure prediction and annotation using the biological databases and bioinformatics tool such as NCBI, RCSB PDB and AlphaFold.
